Mrs Packard (Elizabeth Parsons Ware) was a 19th century feminist who lobbied for laws to protect wives from husbands who could commit them top mental institutions without legitimate cause. This is the story of that woman who was committed to an insane asylum by her husband, a Calvinist minister, for arguing questions of dogma. Mrs. Packard wrote a number of scarce books on her experiences and became a crusading reformer and feminist.
