Crowley's masterpiece, the work into which he poured his knowledge of the Astral and other planes. It is in three parts, the first two of which cover the principles of Yoga, and of Ceremonial Magic as taught in the Golden Dawn where he served his apprenticeship from 1898 to 1900. The third and major part, which was written mainly in his Abbey of Thelma in Sicily between 1920 and 1923, contains his own system of practical occultism. Crowley's Magick is a doctrine and a technique for establishing contact with extra-terrestrial entities - spirits, demons, elementals - for the purpose of extending human consciousness and expanding life to cosmic proportions. An excellent copy. Pages are bright and tidy. No marks, creases or browning. Possibly unread. Cloth boards are tight and clean. Billingshurst: The Bookplate Society in association with The Keridwen Press, 1988. 1st edition. Paperback. Octavo (21 x 15 cm). 35 pages, 23 of which are b&w reproductions of the bookplates. (Also a b&w photograph of the artist as a frontispiece.) Part of a limited run of 500 copies, 140 of which were numbered and signed by the author. This is copy number 75: the number is inked on the reverse of the title page, the signature on the Introduction page that follows it. Very Good in Good jacket. Text a little shelf-soiled in its bottom corner, near the fore-edge. Jacket has faded around the spine, which is also a bit tanned at its foot.

The ancient Vedic religion was formed from the religious ideas and practices among some of the Indo-Aryan Peoples of Northwest India. Rele's book is a summation of his views that the Hindu scriptural texts are books of a biological nature and his research interprets the Vedic Gods from a biological stand point, particularly in relation to the central nervous system. A scarce book, especially in this excellent condition. See photos all of which are of the actual copy for sale. Boards are tight and very clean, with just some few markings here and there but overall excellent. Bottom corners are slightly bumped. Rear end paper has very neat pencil notes of a previous reader summarising the book (see photo) - removable if desired. Spine is clean and tight. Pages are bright, clean and in most part in remarkable condition. Crowley's most famous work. This is the Castle Books 1991 reprint. Exceptionally good condition for this edition. No spine fade at all, which is often seen. DJ is complete with no tears, cracks, fading or marks. Only the slightest rubbing on the back. See all photos. Pages are uncut, bright, clean and with no obvious markings at all. No inscriptions, bookplates etc. Boards are tight and clean. This book has been exceptionally well looked after and but for the very slightest of signs is effectively as new.
