Possible later printing of first ed.--copyright notice is 1897, no other date given; No. 195-196 in "Maynard's English Classic Series;" 147 p., immaculate and unmarked--not ex-lib., no former owner's name but there is faint round mark probably made by inkwell on front end page; 8 additional p. listing other titles in the "Maynard's English Classic Series, " as well as "Shakespeare's Plays," "Abernath's American Literature," "Kellogg's Textbook on American Literature," and lists of books needed for "College Entrance Requirements in English" and "English Literature Required by the Regen's Syllabus." 12mo; binding firm; beige boards with clear black lettering and arboreal ornamentation are clean though the spine is sunned; slight rubbing at crown and foot of spine, in absence of d.j., and decided bump on lower corner of back board.
