Sobre este item
The Prince and the Pauper, which tells of Prince Edward Tudor of Wales and the pauper Tom Canty, whose uncanny resemblance allows they to switch places and learn about each others lives, was the first foray into historical fiction for Mark Twain. It also served as a vehicle for commentary on social injustice.
This copy is in Good condition. There is an inscription reading "To Rhoda, From Elizabeth Dec.1944" on the front endpapers as well as a sticker, and the pages also show some age-related discolouration. The binding is tight and the text is entirely legible. There is some bumping and wear to the boards and the cloth covering them, and the dust jacket is in Fair condition, being very faded and having some tears, particularly in the corners and at the top of the spine.
