1927. Very good condition. Real b&w photograph depicting Coolidge (and his wife Grace) in feathered war bonnet, flanked by tribal leaders including Standing Bear, at the ceremony in which Coolidge would be adopted into the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. The tribe's adoption of Coolidge was to honor him for signing the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924. Coolidge was the first sitting U.S. president to make an official visit to an American Indian reservation.
