Hutchesontown, Glasgow: John Carmichael, 1824. 12mo. Contemporaneous full black leather with gilt and stamped decorations to spine. Combined volume comprising the two volumes together in one, including title pages, prefaces and pagination for each. 284 pp. plus 272 pp. plus prefaces, etc. thus 564 pages combined. An extensive collection of old songs, some with detailed background notes. Both parts have indexes of first lines. Pages clean and binding very good and supple. A couple of early inscriptions: name inscr. to the verso of second part's title page, and short dedication and name signature of one 'Mary Stewart of Loch Katrine' at rear endpaper. Overall in good sound condition with just a little light rubbing to the leather. VG+
