Sobre este item
Kitchen Sink Press, 1990. Fourth edition. Hardcover. Fine/fine. First edition/ printing. A fine, fresh copy in bright, crisp dust jacket. Folio in black cloth with spine lettered in gilt. Illustrated endpapers. A collection of one of the forgotten masterpieces of comic strip history, "Polly and Her Pals" by Cliff Starrett. In it's day, it was compared to Krazy Kay and Little Nemo but Polly existed not in a world of fantasy like those characters in but rather in a normal family beset by everyday trials. Polly was depicted in quitessental flapper clothes styles in this era and some of the related characters were Dot and Dash, Damon and Pythias, Pa and others. The strip ran from 1912 to 1957 first in Hearst newspapers and later distributed by King Features. This volume deals with the Jazz Age Polly of 1926-27.
