Sobre este item
Unicorn Press, 1970. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. A great association copy, inscribed on the first leaf: "For Diane di Prima, with much love and admiration, Jerry." Number 269 of 500 copies, this book consists of eleven folded leaves of text laid into publisher's cloth blue cloth folder, in its right pocket. The leaves are printed by Noel Young on handmade Japanese paper. In the left pocket, three postcards in sepia/brown tones are laid in as published, two with a photos of people and the third larger with a map. Contents are fine, but the folder is very good because of a noticeable bowing to boards and some slant to spine. // Wood (+) River (=) Books specializes in place-based and environmental literature, with a special passion for association copies and notable inscriptions.

Sobre Rural Hours
Rural Hours (formerly Wood + River = Books, est. 2019) specializes in ecology, natural history, nature writing, the environment, environmental literature, and contemporary essay, with a special passion for association copies and notable inscriptions. We draw our name from the popular-but-then-forgotten book by Susan Fenimore Cooper (published in 1850), generally considered the first work of environmental creative nonfiction by a woman in the U.S. We are interested in challenging and expanding the canon of environmental literature and finding books that tell remarkable stories and illuminate the tradition of writing about place and natural history.
