New York: Boni & Liveright, 1928. Hardcover, dark blue cloth boards, gilt-stamped cover & spine. Good/Dust Jacket condition fair. Humorous verse and parodies of other 1910s and 20s writers, as well as spoofs on fads and movements of the day. 217 pages, some spotting and soil. Jacket split in 2, fragile, spine darkened. Hoffenstein, 1890-1947, was born in Russia and was an Oscar-nominated screenwriter and musical composer working in Los Angeles in the 1930s and 1940s, known for such works as The Wiz, Phantom of the Opera, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Some of the poems included here first appeared in publications such as the New York World, New York Tribune, and Vanity Fair.
