London: John Lane, The Bodley Head, 1898. 8], 108, [2], 12 [pub. cat. dated 1897 with attractive title-page of Virgo Street] pp. Includes the poem "Christ in Hades" in its original form. With errata slip with 4 entries. Green buckram with a gilt border and device to the front board. Interesting newpaper clipping attached to the inside board of a letter from the poet to the Daily Chronicle pointing out the first issue of his Poems book had many errors which are now corrected in the second issue. He also discusses the word 'strand' should be 'Strand' p33 line 7. This copy is the rare un-corrected first issue. End-papers tones and some occasional foxing to the edges. Also a newpaper clipping from 'The Academy' loosely inserted, reviewing the book and stating it had won the 1st prize of £100 from The Academy for 'Book of the Year 1897'.. 1st ed., 1st imp.. Hard Cover. V.g./No Jacket. octavo.
