A beautifully illustrated edition of Ella Wheeler Wilcox's most famous poetry collection, with colour plates by Dudley Tennant. A later edition.Illustrated with a tipped in colour frontispiece and nineteen tipped in colour plates. Collated complete. This collection of poems was written by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, an American author and poet. This collection, first published in 1883, threatened to spark a scandal due to its title. However the poems became much beloved by the American public, the collection including poems such as 'A Fallen Leaf', 'How Like the Sea', 'Says Cupid to Mammon', 'Friendship After Love', and more.Undated, dated by a copy held at the British Library. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with slight fading to the spine, a closed tear to the rear joint, a very small closed tear to the head of the spine and damp stains to the rear board. Front hinge starting with offsetting to free endpapers. Internally firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages with light spotting to the front blanks. Ink inscription dated 1918 to the front blank. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
