First printing. Book has no wear to speak of. Unclipped DJ is protected in an archival sleeve and has light staining along the top edge of the front cover. Internally there are some lightly yellowish foxing spots to some of the pages. Signed by Whittaker on a plate attached to the title page. The sight of Britannia 70004 roaring through Burton-on-Trent one summer afternoon in the mid-sixties would have provided a suitable baptism for any youngster on their first trainspotting jaunt. For Nicholas Whittaker it was the beginning of a thirty-year love affair with the railways. Uncommon signature.
