Written by a local historian, it combines reminiscences of local residents & folklore passed down by generations with contemporary accounts. A good half of the book is devoted to wildlife, both plant & animal. In 149 pages, well-illustrated throughout, + an Index to Trees & Plants. A First Edition, First Printing, from 1937, this hardcover octavo has tan cloth-covered boards stamped with a green design & lettering to front. Condition is Good: aside from some crayon scribbling to rear endpapers, frontispiece, title page, & a few pages inside, it is quite clean & unmarked. Binding strong & straight, pages creamy white. Corners are bumped, with fraying & rubbing to lower extremities. The unclipped DJ is Fair, missing some large chips & with that same blue crayon scribbling; nicely preserved in new clear mylar cover.
