Sobre este item
Chicago, Illinois: Books of Wonder/William Morrow & Company, 1989. First Thus . Hardcover. Fair/Near Fine. Neill, John R.. Orig. published in 1909, this is the First Printing of one of a new series of reprints from William Morrow, published in the late 20th century in conjunction with Books of Wonder bookstore in New York City, whose co-founder, Peter Glassman, adds an Afterword here. These editions retain the original story & all of the lovely pen-and-ink illustrations, full-color decorative endpapers, +21 duotone & 42 internal full-color illustrations by original artist John R. Neill. In 270 pages, the hardcover book has decorative cream-colored cloth over boards with vintage illustration of Ozma & Dorothy in center of front cover. Condition is downgraded to only Fair due to these flaws: 1) heavy rubbing to lower extremities, worn down to underlying boards, 2) cracked spine, such that some of the signatures are completely loose from the binding, though still sewn together unto themselves, 3) it is an ex-library copy, with the usual stamps & markings & card pocket in front matter & stamps to top & bottom outside page edges. Else, the pages are creamy white & the colors on the illustrations are brilliant! No foxing. NO writing/underlining/highlighting/coloring."This Book Belongs To." box is clean & ready for your child's name. The old library mylar has been carefully removed & replaced with new, & the DJ is truly Fine: completely clean & bright with virtually NO edgewear, but red reinforcement tape around top & bottom edges! Our photos depict he EXACT book you will receive from us--never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm weekdays (PST); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. Bonus: order 2 or more titles in this series & take 10% + only $1.00 extra shipping for each book after the first!
