Sobre este item

Ex Lib copy, 1st edition First Printing. Dustwrapper is lacking the rear flap with the author photo and blurb. Front flap was cut off previously and reattached with cellotape. Tape repairs to lower spine of d/w and head of spine seems to have had tape there before but it has since been removed with some scuffing to that area. Stain on head of spine as well. Red lettering on spine faded. Front flap shows 5/65 on lower right corner and original price $4.95 top right. The burgundy boards have some old tape marks front and rear and also on the fep and ffep. DISCARD is stamped to ffep. The title page has a raised imprint stamp titled PUBLIC LIBRARY ROCHESTER MINNESOTA. Rear pastedown has a long tape mark running the length of it and also glue residue from what must have been a previous library pocket. Small DISCARD stamp on top edge. Price includes courier with DHL.

Sinopse

The Orchard Keeper is the first novel by the American novelist Cormac McCarthy. Like all McCarthy's fiction, it has been heavily influenced by William Faulkner, probably more so than any of his other works. The novel is set in a small, isolated community in Tennessee, during the inter-war period. It is the story of John Wesley Rattner, a young boy, and Marion Sylder, an outlaw and bootlegger, who has killed Rattner's father, a fact to which both are oblivious. The writing of William Faulkner heavily influenced this novel, and it was awarded the 1966 William Faulkner Foundation Award for notable first novel.
