Hercule Poirot has a dentist appointment with Henry Morley and leaving there he meets Mabelle Sainsbury Seale who has lost a buckle from her shoe. Later that day, his friend Inspector Japp informs him that Morley has been found dead, having been shot in the head. There were three patients after Poirot and before Morley?s death and one of them, Amberiotis, is later found dead from an overdose of anesthetic, leading to the belief that Morley accidentally killed him and committed suicide upon realizing his mistake.
