Hercule Poirot has a dentist appointment with Henry Morley and leaving there he meets Mabelle Sainsbury Seale who has lost a buckle from her shoe. Later that day, his friend Inspector Japp informs him that Morley has been found dead, having been shot in the head. There were three patients after Poirot and before Morley?s death and one of them, Amberiotis, is later found dead from an overdose of anesthetic, leading to the belief that Morley accidentally killed him and committed suicide upon realizing his mistake. Poirot disagrees with this belief.* This is a FINE late impression copy of the 1st thus. with absolutely minimal age.* 0

Sinopse

The dentist was found with a blackened hole below his right temple. A pistol lay on the floor near his outflung right hand. Later, one of his patients was found dead from a lethal dose of local anaesthetic. A clear case of murder and suicide. But why would a dentist commit a crime in the middle of a busy day of appointments? A shoe buckle holds the key to the mystery. Now – in the words of the rhyme – can Poirot pick up the sticks and lay them straight?
