Pages clean, unmarked, binding tight and square, page edges w/just a hint of dust soiling. Navy blue boards, silver lettering on spine, blind stamped publisher logo on cover. The authors cover the development of the atom bomb, what Roosevelt, Churchill, Stalin and their advisers thought about its use, Truman's attitude of it being "just another piece of artillery"; the formation of the Atomic Energy Commission and the escalation of the arms race. Other chapters cover "atoms for peace", the policies of Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, and Carter, the arms limitations agreements and the history of arms negotiations.
