1873 Publisher: James R. Osgood and Company, 1873. First Edition, first printing dated 1873 on the title page. Hardcover. viii + 399 pp + Index & 24 pp ads and the rear pocket which was designed to hold the Large folding Map which is present and in very good+ to NF condition with a few splits at corner junctions. Poor quality paper was used as most all copies I have seen of this map are split in this manner: 'New England with Adjacent Portions of New York & Canada.' Map is by the famous cartographer H. F. Walling dated 1873. Covers have some moderate wear, spine and covers rubbed and soiled a bit. A nice-looking example of an exceedingly uncommon title in first printing. NOT a library copy. This book is part of a very large collection we have just purchased & taken in from a long-time collector and local AMC & White Mountain historian here in NH. Consisting of over 1500 items. It is one of the largest collections of White Mountains & AMC material that we have ever seen, in private hands that is. If you need or want anything having to do with this field it is likely that we have it or can get it as we know boast the largest collection of like material (Books, Maps, Paper, Stereo's & CDV's, etc...) for sale in the world.
