Sobre este item
London: Groombridge and Sons, 1880. Cloth. Very Good. 7" by 5". None. A charming guide to oology, illustrated with many plates. Written by Henry Gardiner Adams, who wrote several works of natural history. With fourteen coloured plates of eggs. An informative study, which has been written by the same author as 'Favourite Song Birds', 'Humming Birds' and 'Beautiful Shells'. Adams has written this work with the hobbyist reader in mind. There are definitions of technical terms and a selection of anecdotes regarding nests and eggs before detailed descriptions of the nests of a variety of British birds. Breeds discussed include Red-Backed Shrikes, Owls, Wheatears, Wrens, and Meadow Pipits. A smart copy of this work. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Light shelfwear to the extremities. A few small marks to boards. Front hinge is strained but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages. Tidemark to the edge of plate facing page 78. Very Good
