There is some chipping to the extremities of the price-clipped jacket (including a 1/2 x 1/4 inch loss at the crown) with very slight shelfwear rubbing to the corners and edges of the boards. Else, the binding is tight, the jacket otherwise bright and unstained, with a clean and unmarked interior. Bound in brown cloth covered boards and wrapped in a simple printed brown paper jacket. Even nearly fifty years later, McMurtry's words about Texas and Texans are worth reading for their incisive grasp on the feel and character of the place and people..
