Else a clean and tight copy. 768 pp. With maps in pocket at back. Sir John Franklin’s brief was to survey the Northern Coast of North America to the east of Hudsons Bay. They set off in May 1819 and spent the next few years in the Arctic regions. This is Franklin’s own account of the expedition, with a short addition of the journal of Mr Beck.
