Mr. James Watts’ Pair of “Toulouse Geese”. Original chromolithograph from The Illustrated Book of Poultry, by Lewis Wright. Published by Cassell, Petter & Galpin; London, Paris & New York: 1872. This is a good/fair original chromolithograph from the first edition of Cassell’s Poultry Book drawn by J. W. Ludlow and printed by Vincent Brooks, Day & Sons Ltd., London. This single original chromolithograph plate is an actual portrait of a prizewinning cultivated breed as mentioned at the bottom of print. Image size is approx 8” x 6.5” on sheet 10.25” x 8”. Print shows signs of foxing and water stains on margins. Print is still bright and ready for framing.
