A rare first edition of the charming pictorial collection, 'Mother Goose Set to Music.' Originally composed by James William Elliot, the lyrics of the songs were written by M.L. Elliot. Each song includes a corresponding woodcut vignette. These illustrations are by a variety of artists under the supervision of the esteemed English engravers, the Brothers Dalziel, George, and Edward.
There can hardly be found a name or pseudonym so synonymous with nursery rhymes as Mother Goose. Included within are some of the Western world's most famous pieces such as 'Jack and Jill,' 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,' 'Dickory, Dickory, Dock,' 'Little Bo-Peep,' 'Little Jack Horner,' 'Humpty Dumpty,' 'Hey diddle diddle,' and so many more!
