The two authors have undertaken a wide-ranging survey of 50 years of fiction and provided a brief commentary on each of the 200 novels selected. The book has been signed (without dedication) by both authors to the title page. Additionally the book has been signed by 57 other authors at their contribution : 46 signatures are flat-signed and the remaining 11 are on tipped-in signed bookplates (Don DeLillo has signed an event ticket). The signatures include 4 Nobel Laureates and 14 Book Prize winners.
