Edition De Luxe, one of 75 copies signed by Halford at title page of volume I, with an additional 50 copies published in the U.S. Two quarto volumes. Volume I with frontis portrait; 9 color plates of flies; 18 color samples; 16 photogravures. Vol. II with 33 flies on 9 recessed card mounts, though numbers 24 and 25 damaged and lacking wings and tails. Original half red calf with red cloth boards, six compartments to spine, gilt lettering, top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Each volume housed in a custom-made clamshell case with mounted title labels.

Light wear to extremities and joints with some general scuffing; patch of discoloration to rear of volume II. Bindings are sound. Light and sparse foxing, a bit heavier at endpapers, but overall pages unmarked. Slipcases worn along edges, else sturdy and sound.

Scarce English issue of a remarkable production from "The Father of Modern Dry Fly Fishing," in a handsome and well-preserved binding.
