Blue cloth boards with gilt text and silver decoration. Boards rubbed and color faded. Cover is completely separated from textblock. Edgewear and rubbing to corners. Spine is heavily faded. Head and tail of spine are rubbed. Spine lean. Edges of textblock are soiled and darkening. FFEP detached from textblock. Soiling from possible dampstain to tops and bottoms of pages. Pages are unmarked. Open tear of RFEP and rear flyleaf. Binding is coming slightly loose. This is a difficult to find first edition of Adeline Sergeant’s 1895 novel. First Editions
