Sobre este item
New York: St Martins Press - A Thomas Dunne Book, 1989. First Edition First Printing Stated . Hard Back. Near Fine/Very Good. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2. 342 Pages. There is a hint of sun-tanning to pages and page edges that is light and surprisingly even. At first glance it appears to be a normal less than bright white color for this type paper but I believe it to be a combination of poor quality paper and exposure to heat or sun. Front endpaper has two small punctures. Beyond this is a tight, little used book, No bumped corners. Dust jacket has some edge and corner wear with a 3/8 inch tear to top back cover as well as chipping and 3/8 inch chunk missing from bottom corner. The 17.95 dust jacket price is unclipped. Not a library book. Lizzie Borden strikes again! Or does she? The year is 1921. Women have received the right to vote, prohibition has become the law of the land, and a gener*ation has passed since the brutal murders in Fall River of Andrew Borden and his wife -- murders for which their daughter, Lizzie, was tried and acquitted, murders that an entire nation remains convinced she was responsible for. During her summer vacation along the Massachusetts shore, young amanda Burton befriends her elderly next-door neighbor -- the nororious Lizzie Borden. When Amanda finds the remains of her stepmother, who has been brutaly axe-murdered, her secure world is instantly turned upside down. The police are certain they known the culprit: Miss Lizzie -- expecially since the savage crime bears an uncanny resemblance to the Fall River slayings. Satterwaite is an Albuquerque author and this is his second novel. Lizzie Borden took an axe, and gave her mother forty whacks, and when she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one.
