Sobre este item

Dallas, Texas: Taylor Publications, 1986. Laid in is a "Jack Hemingway" imprinted notecard that is signed by him. On it Hemingway has written: "Dear… (two illegible names): "It was great seeing you on my B-day and belated thanks for the Spottswoode and Caymus. I'm saving them for a good moment. '99 looks super busy for me but hope we can get fishing again in 2000 - Merry Xmas. Best Wishes for '99 (signed) Jack." Also laid in is a printed invitation to Hemingway's 75th birthday celebration. Near Fine condition in a bright and shiny Very Good dust jacket. The background color of the jacket's spine has uniformly sun-faded (as often) -- only a shade or two -- so the jacket is rated only Very Good although it has no chips, tears or rubbing. All lettering remains clear and distinct. NOT a library discard. 1986. First printing of the First Edition with complete number row (0987654321) on the copyright page. Illustrated with 32 pages of b/w photographs, including more than a dozen family photos of his father Ernest Hemingway and mother Hadley, From the publisher "The author, eldest son of Ernest Hemingway, recounts his childhood in Paris, education at Dartmouth, work as an OSS agent in World War II, escape from a German POW camp, and experiences fishing [and hunting] around the world.". Author signed notecard laid-in. First Printing of the First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine condition/Very Good dust jacket. Illus. by NOT a library discard. 8vo. (x), 326pp. + 32 pages of photos. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
