[3], vi-xix, [2], 2-390, [2]; [3], iv-xvi, [1], 2-496, [2]; [3], iv-xv, [4], 2-512, [2]; [3], vi-xix, [2], 2-525, [3] pp. Turn-of-the-century navy leather with gilt decorations on the edges of the boards, the spines in six compartments, gilt decorations and gilt lettering on the spines, brown and green leather labels on each spine; all edges marbled. Marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Each volume illustrated with an engraved frontispiece. A beautiful set of English history, spanning the rule of James I to Charles the II, with a large section devoted to Oliver Cromwell. Volume four contains various biographies of famous English nobles. Minor rubbing to the front board of volume four.
