Sobre este item

Harmondsworth, England: Penguin, 1976. Paperback. Underlining and highlighting in pen to some pages. Slight browning to edges of pages through age. Slight wear to cover. Why and how are children adversely affected? Dr. Rutter reviews the qualities of mothering needed for normal development and considers both the short-term and long-term effects of 'maternal deprivation'. He concludes that the term covers a wide range of different experiences with quite different effects on development. What is now need, Dr. Rutter argues, is a more precise description of the different aspectes of 'bad' care and 'bad' effects. In starting on these tasks and in repappraising briefly and clearly the whole concept of 'maternal deprivation', Dr. Rutter has written a book which will be necessary reading for all those concerned with the upbringing, care, teaching or treatment of children. 175 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.)..
