Black cloth with orange spine lettering. xxi, 294pp. Frontispiece, line drawings, pictorial endpapers. Very good. Faint binding wear; ownership signature and tiny abrasion on front flyleaf. Later (12th) printing of this popular 27th volume in the "Civilization of the American Indian Series," being the story of Maria Martinez (1887-1980) and her influence on the rebirth of Pueblo pottery-making. Signed large and bold in brown fineline with her usual "Maria / Povika" on the frontispiece line drawing portrait of her.
