Light toning to cloth at headband, endpapers with faint discoloration from dust jacket. Stated "first edition" on copyright page. In publisher's near fine dust jacket, $2.00 on front flap, touch of wear along top edge, otherwise a fine copy with bright illustrations and colors. A nice example in scarce publisher's dust jacket. (Crane A20.a.i). A bestseller in 1935. This novel chronicles the life of Lucy Gayheart, a young girl from Haverford, near the Platte River in Nebraska.
