Gilt lettering and design on spine VG to NF in edgeworn red and white dj. 278 pp. Previous owner's name on inside cover and a few penciled notes, else VG. Sections on "friends and neighbors, " " ways that are dark, " "shouts and murmurs, " "on the air", "book markers, " and "program notes. " Author died just as book was finished. Contains news article on "Woolcott speaking" from 1943 from NY Times with photo of Woolcott smoking.
