SIGNED by the AUTHOR directly on the title page with "Best Regards, Bill" (his signature only, NOT personalized to anyone). Fine condition. Sharp corners. NOT a library discard. NO owner's name or bookplate. Pages are fresh, crisp, clean and unmarked. Autobiography of this aeronautical engineer who worked for Convair Aircraft in San Diego and then for Northrop Aircraft in Hawthorne, CA with overseas assignments in Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and South Korea. Laid-in is a 24-page photo-essay pamphlet of the author's 1947 Christmas message to his parents from the MIT campus. Also laid-in are multi-page fold-outs showing the author's "life's chronology" and the Oakes family geneology as of 2009. 8.25" wide by 10.25" tall. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines.
