London: John Lane The Bodley Head. Good in Fair dust jacket. 1938. First Edition. Hardcover. 154 pages. Charming illustrations by Huxtable. First edition with very scarce original paper dust jacket. Brown paper dust jacket with red lettering and b/w illustration of a magic personage on a horse with a little girl. DJ is browned with chips and edge wear, dj spine has some humidity staining and chipping at tips, front flap price clipped. Book itself is linen, quite clean, interior first end papers have browning from the dust jacket flaps, gift inscript, otherwise clean and nice. A scarce title at all, very scarce with the dust jacket -- which is worn but still quite intact. Children from Devonshire venture into Cornwall and have some quite unusual magical adventures, wonderfully illustrated by the author. ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 154 pages .
