Putative early issue, without plates. "An informal account by a participant on the United States Exploring Expedition....The Hawaii portion of the text is on pages 178-209". Clark also describes his visits to Tahiti, the Columbia River valley, and San Francisco. Hill 299; Forbes 1631.
