New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1898. Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition. Publisher's light red cloth over boards, gilt spine. With a frontispiece plate. Inscribed by the author on the front fly leaf to Bishop Henry C. Potter (June 21, 1898). Spine back lightly sunned, rubbing to the boards, modest foxing to the tissue guard only, near fine. Potter, the seventh bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, was "more praised and appreciated, perhaps, than any public man in New York City's long list of great citizens". A nice association.
