Endpapers browned, bookseller's ticket of Frank Murray of Derby to FEP, else internally clean and crisp A nineteenth-century reissue of the first edition (1740) of the memoirs of Christian Davies (1667-1739), an Irishwoman who enlisted in the British Army in 1693 disguised as a man, and subsequently saw action with the infantry in Flanders during the Nine Years War and later with the Scots Greys during the War of the Spanish Succession. The work has in the past been erroneously attributed to Daniel Defoe. . 8vo.

We have a countryside bookshop in Wareham; we also regularly issue catalogues - do ask if you would like to be added to our mailing list - and frequently exhibit at regional and national book fairs in London, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Oxford, and York.
We also offer a valuation service (for either insurance or probate purposes), as well as advice on library development.
