An Everyman's Library edition presenting Legends of Charlemagne by Thomas Bulfinch (1796-1867) for a younger reader. Some of the legends surrounding the 8th & 9th Century King of the Franks and his twelve prominent knights are shared. With an introduction by the author. Number 556 in Everyman's Library catalog in their "For Young People" series, edited by Ernest Rhys, who has also supplied a brief introduction. --- In 'flatback' binding style 1, full red cloth-covered ribbed boards with elaborate Reginald Knowles-designed gilt spine titling & decorations, blindstamped J. M. Dent vignette to front cover, dark topstain and fancy Knowles woodcut art at title page, endpapers & frontis. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- With some discoloration to covers & slight sunning to spine. Interior is clean & unmarked and binding is sound.; 16mo (6 to 7 in. tall); ix, 240 pages .
