New York: Sloan. Very Good in Good dust jacket. 1947. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. A chronicle of man's assualt on the earth's highest mountain. The author was an American mountaineer and writer who was well-qualified to write this book as he was intimately aquainted with Everest and many of the people who attempted to conquer the mountain. Previous owner's name on the front end paper, else a clean, tight, unmarked book in the publisher's original black cloth covers with gilt spine lettering. The dust jacket has a few marginal tears and is price-clipped; the jacket's spine is faded and waterstained (not affecting the book itself). ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 411 pages .
