Sobre este item

New York: David McKay Company, Inc, 1974. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo. 374 pp. Blue paper boards with gilt speine lettering. One corner lightly bumped, with a heavier bump to the foot of the spine. A few very small and light spots to the endpapers, but otherwise clean and bright and the binding tight and square. The dust jacketwith some visible, but light scratches, light nicking to the spine ends, a short rip to the bottom edge of the front cover, creating a crease and some delamination, also to the bottom edge of the rear cover, but with two short rips and the delamination creases more pronounced, but still, a good clean jacket, and a very good copy overall.

Sinopse

The Killer Angels is a historical novel by Michael Shaara that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1975. The book tells the story of four days of the Battle of Gettysburg in the American Civil War: June 30, 1863, as the troops of both the Union and the Confederacy move into battle around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and July 1, July 2, and July 3, when the battle was fought. The story is character driven and told from the perspective of various protagonists.

Avaliações

Em Mar 26 2017, um leitor disse:
Brilliant depiction of various characters, from the historically pre-eminent (Lee, Chamberlain) to the minor (Spy) to the fictional participants at Gettysburg. Provides a psychological profile of those who made this hallowed ground.
