Kateri Tekakwitha (1656 - 1680) was a Mohawk woman who lived in eastern Canada, was baptised as "Catherine," and is also known as "Lily of the Mohawks." She is a Catholic saint and virgin who was an Algonquin Mohawk and left her tribe after declaring a vow of chastity. The author's book adds to the literature of this interesting woman from the early history of France's colonization. Original brown gilt cloth publisher's covers with spine lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. ; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 192 pages .
