Burn also discusses the formation behind the justice of the peace. Crimes discusses in this work include excise, customs, homicide, robbery, libel, polygamy, assault, and more.Published in Georgian England, this work shows the development of the system of local governments across the country.With two pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of volume IV.With the bookplate of A. Benson to each front pastedown, and an amateur ink portrait of Burn to the front free endpaper of volume I, completed by Benson.Written by the English legal writer Richard Burn, also a noted antiquarian. This edition was published in the same year as the author's death. In full calf bindings. Minor losses of leather to back strip heads of volumes I and IV, with light rubbing to back strip heads and tails, and light rubbing to boards. 'BURNS' in ink to the tail of the rear board of volume III. Rear hinges of volumes I and II lightly strained, but firmly held. Bookplates to front pastedowns, ink portrait to front free endpaper of volume I. Volume III lacking front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good
