"With a Map and Illustrations by the Author." An early printing, published in the same year as the first. Bayard Taylor's travelogue documenting his expedition across Africa. Taylor vividly depicted encounters with diverse cultures, challenging landscapes, and wild animals, providing mid-nineteenth century readers with an insight into the untamed beauty of Central Africa.
