A rare first edition of the final work by esteemed 19th-century illustrator, Randolph Caldecott, 'Jack and the Bean-Stalk.' This delightful pictorial retelling of the famous English fairy tale was written by Hallam Tennyson and published in 1886. Nearly complete Caldecott would pass before completing his work for this book. Despite being unfinished, in memoriam for Caldecott, the publisher elected to utilize his 30 charming sketches in their "incomplete" state. A timeless tale accompanied by timeless art.
