Large octavo (6-1/2" x 9-1/2") attractively bound in full maroon sheepskin with both panels of the binding heavily gilt-decorated with repeating lines surrounding a young girl. Illustrated with ORIGINAL COLOR LITHOGRAPHS by Lynd Ward that beautifully complement the text. Copy #1420 of 1500 SIGNED by illustrator on the colophon page. One of the underrated books of the press.
