Extremely rare. Published by Order of the Mayor and Corporation, London, 1797. First edition. Small in-4, xxvi & 85 pages. Full marbled leather, with stamped gilt lettering/ornamnetation on the spine and covers. Light rubbing at the edges and gutters. The binding is sound. The armorial bookplates of Captain Sotheron and Mary and Francis Ollett are affixed to the front pastedown. Two contemporary printed letters to the editor of the "Times" are tipped in opposite the title page. The title page shows a vignette. The pages show mild age toning and occasional light marginal spotting/foxing. The work is illustrated with 14 engraved plates of archaeological findings. Language: English.
