The true story of an American print journalist who posed as an Australian tourist to gain entry to Red China during the 'Cultural Revolution' of the 1960s, relating her experiences and observations there about the communist political system under Mao and how ordinary Chinese lived - and with a number of surprises. Hardcover with dust jacket, contains b/w illustrations, 217pp., d.j. shows very light edgewear with two vertical creases and one tiny closed edgetear, book shows a 'k' marked on pagination ends. Rare. A very nice copy overall, the jacket neatly encased in an acid-free Brodart plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
