Russell Sturgis (1836-1909) was a leading American architect after the Civil War. Both McKim and Mead apprenticed with him. In later years he wrote seve books on architectural and art history and was instrumental in building Columbia's famous Avery Library. Slight tear to head of spine, else very goo.
