By the author of Old Yeller. A book for kids, but with a caution - a little language of the 1940s may not be quite appropriate for today. No dust jacket. Orange fabric is faded over the spine and the print is almost totally gone. The wear at the corners and edges is mild, with no boards showing through. The pages are clean, tight and unmarked. On the front endpaper there is the owner's bookplate sticker on the left and a small stamp on the right (see photo #5). Based on my research, the stamp is older than the book; an Austrian newspaper stamp from about 1922. Don't think it is highly valuable, but it makes the book unique in a way. Of course, the book is already rather scarce. Stated first edition on the copyright page, but with the notation "L-X" (photo #4) below, which means this was printed in December and was the 24th printing. (Not sure what they did if they got past Z, the 26th printing.)
